IBC "Legends of Golf Siem Reap Open Golf Tournament"

Players departed for Siem reap on the 8 am flight to Siem Reap where on arrival they were greeted by the very cordial and helpful staff at the Sofitel Angkor Resort the players base for the two day event.

After check in and a quick swim or refreshing drink it was off to Phrokeethra Golf Resort some 15 minutes by air conditioned bus. The players were met by a very warm staff team there who put on a beautiful lunch for the players prior to tee off at 12.30 pm. A few beers and inter team "jibes and ribbing" it was time to do the business. Teams were 4 players using the Ambrose method. Each team had to consist of at least one learner or non golfer.

The weather was awesome and the course presented in magnificent condition so no excuses for poor play!

After a full days play there was only two strokes between the winning team and the "Most Honest Team"! which showed that the team make ups were very even which makes for a "fair" tournament and result all round. No burglars here!!

After the days play the players enjoyed a few refreshing drinks at the clubhouse before returning to Sofitel resort in Siem Reap where players relaxed around the pool prior to the Prize Giving Dinner at 7 pm.

Winners "chose" a number and won the associated prize which meant that even though you came last you could still win the top line prizes. This meant that everyone was in with a chance to win a great prize until the very last draw in the Lucky Prize draw! All players walked away with a prize which was the aim of the organizers.

The evening meal was just superb and the company and camaraderie amongst the players wonderful. The desire of the organizers was for a "FUN" event where IBC members got to meet each other in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

After a great dinner and prize giving members went to enjoy the bars and nite spots of Siem Reap. A lot of fun was had by all and some good laughs!!

Sunday morning began at 10 am with a "Champagne Breakfast" and relaxing time around the pool for some and for others a "recovery period" from the night before!

At 12 pm the players were taken to Siem Reap airport to catch the flight to Phnom Penh and thus ended a very enjoyable IBC Legends Of Golf Siem Reap Open!!

Thank you to all our wonderful sponsors (please see the attached flyer) and excellent staff at the Sofitel Angkor resort and Phrokeethra Golf Resort who helped make this inaugural event a huge success. Feedback from players has been terrific and we are sure that the 2010 event will be bigger and as enjoyable as the 2009 event was.

Players each paid US$350 per player and this included return air fares, accommodation at the Sofitel Angkor Resort, Golf fees, caddie and cart at Phrokeethra Golf Resort, lunch, dinner and champagne breakfast and prize giving. The abuse and jibes from our organizing team were complimentary!

A wonderful event. Make sure you are there next year!!
